More track-time was the deciding factor on the top two placings, with Moonshine edging in first with a little more experience and the advantage of testosterone. I think he was more than ready for a win. Chasing The Sun was feeling fresh today and just edged out the two fillies following him, boosted by a greater stamina range compared to the fourth place holder, who was running at her max distance for the first time. WhattaTwist came in just ahead of Miss Lieutenant, having been raced consistently and in good form after two successful starts this month. I think Miss Lieutenant was at a slight disadvantage at only her second start this season, but I don't doubt she will shine - I liked her personality.

Englishman: Got caught in a tough group of maiden runners today. His recent performance didn't give him enough confidence to make a bold move today which is why he landed where he is.

Arrows Away: Actually led for most of the race today alongside Louisiana Blues, but couldn't quite finish his surge at the end. I think he will mature into his running style as he grows older, but today just couldn't finish the job.

Bayahibe: While he has the age advantage over the others, I feel like he still has a bit of maturing to do before he finds a win. Smaller fields will help because I do adore him!

Louisiana Blues: She's a tough filly but she strikes me as a horse who would do better at the 7/8 range once she gets a win. She really reminds me of a sprinter-miler type like her siblings and just got bustled out of the lead by the two closing horses.

Mambo Mama: Same here, I feel like she will like shorter distances rather than the latter. Just got squeezed out of the win today!

Katana: Finally got her win today. I do think this was a bit short for her but with that being said she seems very versatile and I quite enjoy her personality.

It really looked like Everlasting Gift had it here for quite a while. He had the advantage of being a colt and thus far winning 3 of 4 of his races. He is tough competition. However I felt Miss Abiline was fighting hard today, she has already raced the distance (unlike Everlasting Gift) and seems to like it after a solid win with her first start at 5F. She claimed this one by a nose.

Wild Tide: She has the back class with a HOTY victory in the Coronation Stakes. However, the older horses have been running well and I saw her taking third in this one. I surprisingly like her better on turf than dirt where she ran as a juvenile xD.

Excalibur's Stone: This was a tough race to make her 4yo season debut. This is not to say she can't run at this level, but I would have brought her back in an undercard instead. With more seasoning, she may just be effective at this distance.
