Born To Soar "Sophia" was bred to be a star, and that is exactly what she became. Sired by Hall Of Fame inductee The Natural, and out of G1 mare Born To Fly, she had a lot to live up to and she made a name for herself in no time. Her first season of racing, as a two year old, Sophia won seven times putting her firmly into G3, a feat rarely achieved by a two year old. Among her wins was the Gallop To The Gallows Stakes*, The Youth Challenge*, and the BREEDER'S CUP JUVENILE FILLIES*. These three big wins were enough for her to win two HOTY awards, Y9 Best Two Year Old Filly and Y9 Best Grade Three.

Sophia's three year old season began with a bang. She took out the Unicorn Horn Fillies* with style, and then began her campaign for the Triple Tiara, winning the Alabama Stakes* and the Ruffian Stakes*. Successful in two of three Tiara prep races, Born To Soar then turned her attention to the Triple Tiara itself, and went down in GHF's history as the first ever Triple Tiara Champion! Her success for the season however didn't stop there, and after winning several more races she went on to win the Dubai Filly Cup*, and then the BREEDER'S CUP LADIES CLASSIC*. This brought her win tally to thirteen wins for the season, and twenty career wins. Born To Soar practically swept the Y10 HOTY awards, winning Best Dirt Horse, Best Three Year Old Filly, Filly Of The Year and best of all, RACEHORSE OF THE YEAR.

Her four year old season was off to a good start, when the filly won the Unicorn Horn Classic* over her older half sister Wildly Natural. Her Y11 season would see more turf races, and therefore she would see more of Wildly Natural. Her older sister was better on the turf, but Born To Soar still managed to take wins over her in races such as the Continental Cup* and Universal Cup*. Although the filly did not win any HOTY Awards for racing in Y11, she did win encouragement awards and was named a Mare To Watch as she was entering retirement. Throughout her four year old season, Sophia gained a further 9 wins, bringing her career record to 59-29-17-9.
