***THESE WILL BE POSTED OVER THE MONTH SO CHECK BACK!***
ENDER-CRIMSON HAVEN RACING Your stable has really boomed recently, what can you tell us about your new horses? They are simply amazing! The new additions to the racing string are certainly leaving their mark on the tracks and I'm proud of how far my stable has come from last year. You've got some promising juveniles, such as The Raven, Rogue Prince, and Wildcat King. Any classic season secrets we can know about?Ah yes, we've got plenty of secrets. The Raven has performing wonderfully in the undercards and we plan to keep him in that level while slowly introducing him to HoTY races in his juvenile season. You can expect to see him in more HoTY races come his classic season. We hope Rev can reach grade 3 before his classic season to help him get a head start. Rogue Prince has been suffering from seconditis recently, but his trainer believes he can break through his slump and push for the fourth win that will launch him towards grade 4. Again, like Raven, we plan on heading him towards more HoTY in his classic season and give him his juvenile season to mature. Wildcat King is very promising in taking on HoTY races in his juvenile season, seeing he pulled in a recent third in the SMART HALO STAKES*. We're taking our time with him like we are doing with all of our juveniles, but for his classic season we don't have any particularly juicy secrets other than more HoTY races. There is a strong yearling division in your stables, do you a favorite we should be taking notice of?It's hard to pick just one favorite, but if I had to chose, it would be my True Enough filly Alethea. I'm excited for her juvenile season come Y18 and I think she can do great things, just like her sire and siblings. Vesuvius is growing stronger with his Novizio Derby victory. How was that celebration party, and what can we expect from him in the coming months? Is Breeder's on the schedule?Vesuvius has amazed everyone at Crimson Haven with his desire to win and just how determined he is. We picked him up last minute when Renegade Racing was closing and expected him to stick to the undercards. The Novizio Derby victory was astonishing and exciting. He's made Crimson Haven Racing history, being the first horse we've trained with earnings of $1 million and winning a major race, so its safe to say he has great things coming. You can expect to see Vee in HoTY now, his next race being the EVERYDAY HERO MEMORIAL STAKES* at Green Horse Fields. We would love to see Vesuvius in the Breeder's Cup, but competition is tough, so we'll see how Vee fares with more HoTY and reevaluate him as time goes on.

CRUISEY - FIRESTONE RACING So, tells us about Dancing On Nails? Plans for the rest of this year, will he retire or return? You also had struggles with Barely Smokin' early this season, he seems to have turned around for you. Thoughts for him?Aw my little Dudley <3 For the rest of the year I plan to prep him for the Breeder's Cup Mile (Turf) by finding the classiest mile HOTY I can find xD Dudley will retire at the end of this season, he's proven himself! Urgh I was about to retire Harley at the beginning of the season. I had thought he didn't want to race anymore but with some time off he came back and surprised me! Hoping to keep him racing sound, he'll be headed for the Senior Dirt Series at GHF and with where things are pointing he will either be sent to the BC Marathon or the BC Classic. Little birdies have whispered to me recently that you've been having some trouble with Ephermeral not getting a win yet this season. Has this type of thing occurred for you before? She's from CC's stock, so she's missed out on a lot this season. Plans for her four year old year? His half brother Patriot seems to be bumping up into HOTY.Yeah, she's been really frustrating but stupid consistent. All of her races with me this season have been a second place and 2 thirds. I've had her since May, so she missed out on 2.5 months of racing essentially. I'm just planning on getting her consistent enough so that maybe she can start bumping into small HOTY races come her 4yo season. Patriot is another one of my frustrating guys lol. He has been starting to dip his toes in. Though Pat doesn't like to tell me what races/what fields he likes xD canihavehellfire Is Hellfire going to be heading for Breeder's to defend her title this season? Is it too early for you to start picking out Breeder contenders, or is that something you do early on?nosorryshesmine. Of course she isss, she's ready to kick butt so she doesn't come in third again xD Flame has been doing so well this season I'm actually excited to see what her foals will be like. Her BC prep races will all be at 8F. I pretty much have picked out my list for the Breeder's Cup lol. Find it here if you want! All of my horses have been doing great and the ones I wanted to go to the BC are pretty much going! You haven't shown your prospects much this season. Is that going to change in the coming months? Prospects are debatable, where do you stand on them?I have no idea, I don't really focus on them as much for some reason! This crop isn't going to be one of my strongest (breeding wise - hopefully not racing wise xD) so it will be interesting to see. I have mixed feelings on prospects lol. For some horses it basically could define their whole racing career, even though judges shouldn't really consider prospects when looking at a horses' profile. They turn out to be great horses but that's not how prospects were designed really.

ALEXIA - BRIAR GROVE RACING You've definitely picked up some more stock since last month, can you tell us about your newbies? We've reclaimed a couple of horses recently, namely Blood Of The Angel; Tears Of An Angel; Tears Of Blood and Instant Success. Blood Of The Angel has one breeding remaining, a reserve to Cavallo, and will otherwise live out her years in the pasture. The two boys will be going to stud. We've also been joined by two broodmares - Lady Grey who has a yearling by Instant Success named Unknowingly; and Daughter Of Venus who has a weanling by Demonic Desires named Lamia. They are both foundation broods, but we have proven that these horses can go on to perform previously. Ribbon Of Fate, a half sister to Sweet On You who just won the Best Pal Stakes, has come over from Riverview Acres and is looking strong for her juvenile season next year. We have also been joined by two juveniles - Ouro Lume and True Sunrise - who are leases and seem to have settled in well. What are some of your racing plans for the rest of this season, do you have any Breeder's hopefuls, or are you going to sit out this year?We will probably sitting out of the Breeders' Cup this year, but we'll be watching and rooting for everyone else. Hopefully next year, when we are a little more established we will be able to really join in. Are you looking forward to finding some new stock in the upcoming sale?Definitely. I have a lot of space to expand right now, and I am hoping to pick up a gem or 2. I've had a quick look through the catalogue and there are a few I am considering bidding on. How are things going behind the scenes, with your staff and with workouts?Preparations for next season are underway. Lucas and Thomas are working hard, getting to know the upcoming youngsters and proving to me that they are just as determined as I am to make this stable work.

HOLLY - MONTGOMERY ACRES I see you're starting to build up some racing schedules for your horses. What's prompted the change, as before you were always a 'fly by the seat of your pants' enter whoever each week kind of racer?Haha, yes I pretty much just go through each week, pick a race, and go. I have made a schedule for my stellar colt Samaritan Hero and I plan on making schedules for Southern Peach and Ground Zero, whom are my two G1 horses. It really does help me out when I want to focus on pointing a horse to specific races. Helps me better prepare them for each race and look forward to how they do. Do you have finalization plans for your sale horses for the beginning of Y18, or are you still working some things out?I have my sale horses pretty much set in stone. I do still have Amaretto Stone racing but I think I will pull him from the track and return him home so he can be fresh and ready for a new owner come January. Are you pegging horses for Breeder's, are there any special prep races you're pinning some hopes on in the last few weeks of the season?I feel comfortable just having one Breeders Cup contender this year. Samaritan Hero will be pinned for the Juvenile. I feel it will be quite the kickoff for his three year old season. Then plan on pointing him to the TC in the spring.

STARWALKER - WALK AMONG THE STARS RACING How have the last few racing weeks been for you? Highlights of horse placements, or disappointments? They have been super rewarding. Three of my horses broke their maidens. The two year old duo of Champagne my turf filly in the Opprobrium Maiden September Week 4 at 9 furlongs and Golden Kingfisher my dirt colt in the Kalypso Maiden October Week 4 at 11 furlongs. The last new G5 is the stables lone three year old ShotOCool in the TW Hot Tamale Maiden at 10 furlongs on dirt. I'm so proud of thee three and can't wait to see where they go next. Do you find you're liking a particular surface or furlong range, how varied are you horses in these regards? Are there gaps you'd like to fill from the upcoming auction?I don't seem to be. They are fairly varied. I think I do see a few gaps to fill in. As a stable without breedingstock, is this something you'd like to keep for a while, or are you in search for some? There does seem to be availability in finding good foals out there, but are you looking forward to getting your own studs and broods soon?I will for sure be on the hunt for some. In the early part of next season most likely.

So, KC Racing. Dish. We needs secrets and you have some. *shifty eyes*
Haha, we're probably the last people on the planet to have any secrets. If anything, maybe NDM is the one hiding the secrets!
Your star this season seems to be Rise Me Gold. Boastful gushing needed? One would assume she's going to Breeder's . . .
Surprisingly enough, I have to admit that this might actually be a fact. Rise Me Gold or "Miss Gold" as she's known around here has definitely risen up in the ranks this year, a large jump from her debut year as a juvenile. She's by far the best of any of the crops produced by The Rising and I can imagine that her success will definitely do Nature Spring Acres plenty of favors when it comes time to book mares to The Rising.
Let's remember that this filly had somewhat of a lackluster season last year that mostly consisted of undercards. We didn't think she'd even be able to compete with the competition in the major series this year. Yet she's held her own against both fillies and colts without missing a beat. She won two legs of the Triple Tiara before narrowly missing her chance with a second place finish in the Mother Goose Stakes. Of course we were incredibly disappointed, but more in ourselves than this girl. She's a powerful lady and she keeps on pushing on.
Her recent victories in the Consumato Derby, Valorizzare Derby and her second place finish in the Risorgimento Derby further solidified the fact that she's more than capable of keeping up with the big dogs. Her victories in her bid for the Tiara were not a fluke.
Last week she finished second to this year's Triple Crown Champion, Black Thriller, in the prestigious Travers Stakes. So yes, she'll definitely be heading to the Breeders' Cup Distaff after the Cincinnati Stakes*. Originally we had plans for Enrapture to run, but we want to give Rise Me Gold as much chance as possible to be victorious. No matter the case, she'll be heading for the Dubai World Cup next year.
You have a smaller string and have professed interesting in staying that way. Reasons, thoughts for future expansion? Do you prefer to get more into breeding than racing?
While some of the stables in the industry pride themselves on having insanely large racing strings, we beg to differ. Our current string consists of approximately 20 horses with 6 of those currently racing at different stables.
We will continue to lease out at least 6-10 horses from our string every year to enable our horses to be manageable. We have no intention of having more than 25 active racehorses at any given time. We want to ensure that our horses receive as much one on one training and attention as possible. By having a very large racing string, there's no feasible way that we could possible attain that same level of TLC.
Talk to us about Oh The Irony. After suffering a fracture, are you sure she'll be sound for racing next season? Could you tell us what happened, and how you think this injury might effect her career? Oh The Irony has had a very rough start to her juvenile year since her debut race. Although she comes from well established lines (Comeuppance o/o The Prize) her most notable and only victory was her win in the Magic Millions Fillies Turf back in April.
Around May-June she started to perform poorly not only in her workouts but she didn't seem to have the same vigor on the track. She placed second in the Heel To Toe Derby then had a dramatic last place finish during the last week of June due to her jockey pulling her up towards the end of the race.
The on-site veterinarian for Battlestone Downs had the filly taken to the equine hospital where she had x-rays and then underwent surgery to address the issue. Thankfully, it was only a slight fracture, a bone chip in her knee that caused the filly to perform poorly.
If we could have recognized the issue sooner we would have had the problem addressed much earlier, but this girl isn't the type to show off her discomfort. She's currently out to pasture and going through therapy, our vet informs us that she should be back in racing form sometime in February next year.
Of course, we only want the best for our horses and if it turns out that she's not ready for the track yet, we won't push her. The time off will help her to mature physically and mentally, however in the long run.
