The New Year was approaching fast and that meant the Breeders Cup was vastly on its way. The month of October was here and the weather was getting colder and the leaves were falling off the trees. Nature Spring Acres had slowly been coming back after their owners had a massive family emergency which meant that the stable couldn't rush into races. Terri Lane was happy to take out Striker, the tall son of True Enough who had seemed to eaten something bad that made him fall out of the money in the Climax Cup just a few weeks ago. Terri had the go ahead from their vet to work him out as she couldn't see any problems anymore. Terri walked the colt out as he bobbed his head Terri chuckled at her equine companion. Tuff E'Nuff was a beautiful colt who shared the same coloring of his dam Dashing in the Firelight. Joined with them was a Dylan Himself colt named Wrecking Ball ridden by Sable Evans.
Striker didn't seem to care of his racing companion however King was a horse of shy nature but he knew Striker quite well to be comfortable in his position. "Meet you at the finish then?" Terri said looking at the young jockey Sable as he laughed before placing the goggles over his eyes. Striker and King took off at their jockey's command with King leading and Striker always falling back to gain his momentum Terri knew that her horse would be ready for the next coming race. Sable pushed Wrecking Ball up a speed around the first turn his strides even as ever, Striker wasn't to far behind as the echoes of his hooves hitting the dirt could be heard around the track. Terri held onto the reigns as they reached the back stretch before soon enough Tuff E'Nuff began to pick up speed and came in fast on the outside of Wrecking Ball.
Wrecking Ball was a brother to Battle Brook's Supernatural, she was a mare of class and skill and while Wrecking Ball was lightly raced being sold to stable to stable he had yet to place out of the money. Sable was hoping to get him out of the undercards soon to see how he would approach such strong HOTY races. Striker was poised for the HOTY races and while he seemed to be down the passed few weeks Terri wanted him to get back to healthy and that was exactly what happened. Once they reached the final turn, Striker built his stamina and began to take off leaving Wrecking Ball to try to keep up and the chestnut colt surely was not backing down.
After they reached the end both horses came to a halt with Wrecking Ball flicking his tail and biting his bit of the loss he encountered with Striker. Terri patted the tall colt and smiled towards Sable, "Terri you watch and see, King here will make it he just needs a little motivation from yours truly Mason said he's doing great." Sable said before watching Terri shake her head. Both horses were walked back to the stables to get groomed and then fed before their race days would come in the second week of October.
