It is with both pleasure and sadness that Firestone Racing announces the retirement of FS Mockinbird son, Vetanda. After having a tough few months on the track, Vet has told us he's had enough and after working hard from his 2yo season up to his 5yo season, it's time to let this colt have a relaxing vacation before being shipped over to Firestone Stud. "His work ethic is great - he's a superb colt with very impressive lines. But I don't want to push a horse and risk injury if they simply don't have the heart to run anymore." Trainer and owner Carter Leeson stated earlier in an interview. "He's earned his keep and he's been very consistent throughout his entire career. I'm excited to see what he throws in the future."

Minske Mavecci: We're happy that he's retiring sound, and I'm sure we'll be contacting you in the future about a breeding! He's a lovely horse.
