Some horse farms and racing facilities have a cutting day. A final inspection and evaluation of youngsters to either keep and try on the tracks or sell. At North Diamond Manor, this process is a little different. Instead of deciding whether to keep or sell, NDM assesses personality, confirmation, pedigree, and assigns a jockey to begin race planning. Only, of course, to have Isabelle tear up said planning later and beg the horse gods to spare her soul. This year is no different, with prospects and weanlings in large hoards roaming around, it was time to round up, wrangle, and attempt to control Isabelle’s secret treating so lean yearlings would not be fat juveniles.
Delightful Pyne Created x Created
A unique find, Pyne will be running 5-8 on dirt. With a penchant for sprinting high speed, we’ll need to make sure he has a good warm up and cool down. He’s got a great temperament, but when it’s time to run there seems to be little variation between standing and a flat run for this colt. Due to his good nature and enjoyment of humans we are giving him to our youngest apprentice jockey to ride, Londyn Graham.
Flitcraft Immortal Flight x Cute Tee
Surprise! Bet only one or two of you knew about this colt. Flashy and feisty, he’s going to be a huge handful for everyone who comes near him. He’s quite full of himself, and he’ll debut on the dirt tracks at 7-10 furlongs to start with. We may extend him up a furlong or two depending on the way he goes, but he’ll mostly be doing the miler runs. With some famous aunts and uncles like Comeuppance, Devil’s Flair, and Trinity, we’re excited to see him run next season. He’ll also be the first Cute Tee foal on the tracks since Cute Italian retired at the end of season nine. With his need for discipline but elegance, Abigail Fortunata will be his jockey.
Frosted Sunrise Bank on Greatness x HOF Wildly Natural
Amber Black and Isabelle were in cahoots again, with NDM getting a pure blueblood of SOPS stock. Named after Sunfrost, this colt will be going turf with a length of 7-12 furlongs. We may decide to give him a surface supreme, but for now he’ll focus on turf tracks. Needing a strong leader, Frost is quite Frosty in nature, and very particular. We’re giving him to Bryce Williams to ride, naturally.
Just Rewards Comeuppance x Akumabuelle
It’s amazing how Isabelle’s first racing horses are now retired and old enough to have horses old enough to race! Just Rewards is highly anticipated, we’re really looking forward to seeing what she can do. Taking the high road, Justice can be quite moralistic. She prefers to be productive, doesn’t goof off, and can be obsessively competitive. We’re letting Abigail Fortunata run her on the dirt tracks at 7-11 furlongs.
Mircalla Top Admiral x Carmilla
A new buy from auction early this season, NDM wanted a fresh face. Mircalla’s sire was a top racer, her dam had a very short career, but the Rosalind and War Admiral lines cross again for this girl. A dual runner for 7-12 furlongs, we’ll be trying her out on all tracks in a wide range. We hope to find her sweet spot, or even better if she succeeds at a variety. Mircalla has some personal insecurities, which can show up as having a mean personality, so we’ll be letting David Rittenhouse do his horse whispering with this lady to bring her out of her shell and improve her confidence.
Revenge of the Angels Created x Created
With no pedigree, we’re not sure where Angie got her obstinate attitude. Never the less, this black filly will be racing 7-10 on turf. Evander Thorne looked like he had stars in his eyes for her, so we’re giving the sassy brat to him, willingly.
Sierra Royale x HOF The True Nut
The first foal of both parents to run for NDM, the sire’s side is packed with bloodlines and the dam side is packed with talent. We’re hoping for a combustion to occur when this tall filly gallops on the turf mile and routing distance of 8-12. Sia needs a good bond with her trainer and jockey, she has a pleasant way about her but isn’t overly friendly or social, so Abigail Fortunata is taking her on.
Sonny’s Gem Created x Created
A teeny tiny little filly, Gemmie is a quick and sharp filly who is supremely energetic and attentive to run. She’ll fill in the sprinter gap competing 5-8 furlongs on dirt. Chloe Donahue eagerly raced for this lady, who shares her love of grooming and ribbons and bling. We love her gray coloration, and are very open to seeing what she can do on the track. Her small body will be able to slip by the competition, but we’ll have to be careful having her around the huge Thoroughbreds.
Superstition HOF/BHOF Everyday Hero x Moondance
The last foal of super sire Everyday Hero will be heading out next season. His dam is Moondance, Impress the Moonlight’s mother. This bay colt has got a good, compact and muscled body and we’re anticipating a great career for him. Ty is quite a nervous and edgy colt, he needs blinkers and a shadow roll and lots of emotional support. He is a bit of a loner, but Ty is determined, and we selected Abigail again for this colt. She has good sense about her to keep control of the colt’s spooking, but employs enough solid foundation of repoire to get Ty’s trust. 8-12 extended on the over both surfaces will be his preferences.
Valiant Gallant Knight x Battle Wings
For our first foal from Knight we enlisted Amber Black for some help-and got a shocking white colt out of Battle Wings! This colt’s blood is fairly expansive, and Leo is a very large boy. He won’t be pushed around, or lost in the crowd, that’s for sure. Dirt at 8-12 furlongs will be his playground, and the quieter gentleman will be ridden by Abigail, who has amassed most of this season’s mounts.
Windfallen Flying Solo x Loud and Clear
Breaking ground for both of her parents in racing, Ivy has a good mind to racing in her, but she’s not hot headed over it. Helping to boost NDM into sprinting, she’ll show her stuff at 5-8 on turf tracks with David Rittenhouse, and we might give her a surface supreme as her dam did equally well on both surfaces. With some wanderlust, it’s always a new experience training Ivy, but we’re learning a lot of new ways to capture her interest. Fortunately, she loves anything to do with running!
Wired No Reservations x Dynasty
Although both of his sire and dam are creates without much of a racing background, we’re still eager to see what Wired can do on the track. Dynasty has produced two grade one winners, and Wired is his sire’s first foal. Running turf distances of 5-10, Bryce will be taking the small gray colt under his wing. Wired is as his name suggests, hot for the run, a fast front runner who will like taking wins wire to wire.
