The Islander Challenge is similar to the Triple Crown series for 3-year olds, except this race is solely for 2 year old colts who have a preference for the miler-type distances. This race was created by Rendezvous in July of 2017 as a memorial series for her brother who passed around the same time. This series is a great way to prepare juveniles for the Green and Red miler series - all of the races in this series are ran over the sand. The series takes place in Dominica with the first leg being in Grand Bay, as the race's namesake implies. Winning all three races earns a juvenile the right to be called an Islander Challenge Champion.
