Twilight Reign was set up perfectly for this trip and was tired of placing behind the leaders. She won at her preferred distance over Whistle Blower, who was hot on her tail. Rebound felt a little cramped at 6f but due to the fast pace he wasn't able to quite make it to the front in time. Close Call Stakes - G3 - 12f - Dcavallo WIN Bona Fide PLACE Dark Intentions SHOW Miss Magic fourth Phoenix Inferno Big Battle Derby - G2 - 9f - Dripley Win. Quick Silver Place. Noadiance Show. My Remedy Stretch It Stakes - G2 - 9f - Tripley Win. Altercation Place. Hot Looks Show. Vetanda Fourth. Just A Song DQ. Manhattan Royalty (G1) PERFECT STING STAKES* - G2+ - 8F - Dcavallo WIN Hellfire (nose) PLACE Ground Zero SHOW Breaking Point 4th Incognito Incognito was up against some horses with incredible speed. He struck me as needing more distance with this caliber of horses better suited to the distance, he missed out by a whisker. This isn't to say he can't win at 8F because his record says otherwise, but the rest of the field was better suited to this range today. CICADA STAKES* - G1 - 9F - DIRT - 3YO+ F/Mcruisey WIN Impressionable PLACE Headstrong show Barely A Sound BOTTOM LINE STARTER HANDICAP* - G2+ - 8F - Dalexia WIN Hysteria PLACE Hellfire SHOW Incognito fourth Rough Diamond DR. JAMES PENNY MEMORIAL STAKES* - G2+ - 8F - Tkenren WIN Celebrity PLACE Kismet SHOW Dancing On Nails fourth Ensignia This was an exceptionally tough field of horses this year, and I think Ensignia got caught a little off-guard. I definitely think he's capable of this level of competition, but this field was rough :/ |
