cru WIN Amaris PLACE Faded Dreams SHOW Seattle Lightning fourth Ruling Restraint fifth Maleficent Maleficent has had a consistent season so far, but against horses who have been racing at the HOTY level for some time now she fell a little short today. If you're planning on running her in HOTY, I'd stay away from these guys and *try* to find small fields for her to build her confidence. She definitely learned a lot from this race. Ruling Restraint I also love, but he set a fast pace alongside Seattle Lighting and couldn't quite keep up in the final strides. BURST STAKES* - G4+ 7F D 4yo+ SENIOR DIRT SPRINTER SERIES PREP

isa FIRST The Dark Knight SECOND Night Terror THIRD Odin FOURTH Charmed Weapon FIFTH What So Not SIXTH Leviticus In this race there wasn't a clear front runner but there was a solid back pack out of the gate. Odin did take the lead, and things were slow but gained better paced after a few furlongs. In this race I felt a good chunk of these horses preferred and did better at longer or shorter distances. The Dark Knight seemed the most suited to this win given his placement and I see him liking this middling range best. Night Terror I also felt liked this particular distance, and being the toughest closer today from the sluggish onset pace was able to get moving great at the end. Odin I feel prefers longer distances, but he has the most experience at 10 furlongs in this group and I couldn't see placing him lower. It was hard to place Charmed Weapon out of the money for the first time, but his experience and success lie more in miler ranges. What So Not looks to do better at 11 and 12 furlongs, he's a lovely boy don't take this as a disappointment, this was a large field. Leviticus was a bit tender to join this field after just breaking his maiden in late July. I think he needs smaller fields for sure to get his confidence and some experience going for him. THE DANCE AWAY* - G4+ 8F T 3YOS+
lolly WIN. Dancing On Nails PLACE. Wild Tide SHOW. Apache Sunrise DQ'd Natural Selection - Ran at BSD Two seriously strong G1 stallions here, against two lower grade younger fillies. Natural Selection had advantages over the girls in this race, but 8F really doesn't seem to be his strongest distance. I tossed up between him and Wild Tide for the 2nd frequently, but this trip really seems to agree with Wild Tide and I think Natural Selection just didn't quite have the speed that his rival filly did over the shorter distance - it would have been a different story with an extra furlong or two. Apache Sunrise just wasn't quite up to the competition today, and though the run would have suited her she was somewhat outclassed by the other contenders. Dancing On Nails was the clear winner here for me today. edited by Cavallo - I caught my own error after the fact. sorry xD STARSHINE SPRINT** - G5+7F D 3yo F TRIPLE SPRINTER TIARA Cavallo

isabelle FIRST Blue Moon SECOND Forget Me Not THIRD Chaotic Limitations FOURTH Kindly Enough FIFTH Night Vigil These horses are all turning out nicely, there isn't a great deal that separated them here, and I didn't like putting anybody out of the money. This could have gone a variety of ways, they are moving very similarly and I encourage you all, especially the lower placements, to try out 8 furlongs a few more times, most of these guys aren't tested there too much yet. lolly WIN. Italian Beauty PLACE. Dogma DQ. Tuff E'Nuff is G3. This race could have gone either way. Dogma has the consistency to really start doing some damage, while Italian Beauty hasn't been as reliable this year. It was a very slow pace and neither horse was pushed particularly hard, however it was Italian Beauty's experience in HOTY and at the distance that eventually tipped me in her favour. I think with this strong placing in a HOTY race, Dogma can expect to find more wins in the near future. G3+ Turf Sprint* - 6F 3yo+
isabelle FIRST Dry Your Tears SECOND Sweet Like Sugar THIRD Moonstorm G3+ Dirt Sprint* - 6F 3yo+
alexia WIN Risky Business PLACE Sugar Demon SHOW Silent Snap G3+ Turf* - 10F 3yo+
lolly WIN. Natural Selection PLACE. Great Revenge SHOW. Patriot If I was a spectator of this race, I'd sort of expect Patriot to have a really hard time against two seriously strong and seriously seasoned G1 Stallions. However, he really held his own; the two big-guns were at each others throat from the start, both strong Front Runners hell-bent on outshining the other. They pushed a seriously fast pace and tired eachother a little sooner than was ideal, and I think if given more room Patriot could have outdone them just by keeping his head on a little straighter. Though Natural Selection and Great Revenge set such a blistering pace they'd made enough room to keep their placings safe from the G3 Patriot... just. It was a very close race between all three. Tough between them, very nice mares Brisbane Cup - G2 6F T Gate One:Grassy Cup - G1 10F Tisa FIRST Lady Timeah SECOND Fire It Up This was suuuccchh a close race, not easy to see the winner. I believe Timeah has a bit more HOTY back class here, and was able to feel more comfortable taking the stalker position while Fire It Up was forced to lead. Such pretty ponies!! I want one Pluto Cup - G1 10F Dfrosty win Final Conquest place Fusillade HAWK CUP* - G4+ 6F T 2YOSalexia WIN Everlasting Gift PLACE Final Velocity SHOW Miss Abilene fourth Phaedra fifth Wayward Lass sixth Constitution This field was murder to judge. Running at her favourite distance, and unchallenged for the lead, Everlasting Gift was able to lead wire to wire here. She's turning into an absolute powerhouse at this stage, congrats Frosty.
