He's known for being a ball of energy and needs to be occupied when stalled. With all of his bouncing energy, he is best housed outside more often than not, with lots of toys to occupy this colt's voracious curiosity and appetite to know more. Even with his high energy, Tappers is a colt that is easy to love and work with. Give him a job and he will throw every ounce of himself behind the task. He's that hard working type of horse who is motivated by the desire to please. This plain brown wrapper of a colt is more than his simple coloring and has easily won over the heart of anyone he's encountered. The one major flaw about Tappers is that if he isn't being worked to keep his energy levels under control, you will find destructive behaviors abound and if that doesn't get your attention that something isn't right with the usually happy-go-lucky colt, then his grumpy attitude shift is imminent. The plus side to this flaw? It doesn't take much to turn this colt around. Spend some quality time with him, work him on the track and he'll bounce back like nothing ever happened at all. While he has an excess of energy, he usually breaks a tad behind the others, but it doesn't disqualify this guy from making up any ground. Rather than expending all of his energy to push to contend with the leaders, he's smart enough to settle in either just off the pace behind them or settle into the pack. He definitely prefers the ground farther from the rail and even though this means he has to travel farther than his opponents, it doesn't hinder him in the slightest. Once the end is near, one tap from his rider and he unleashes all of his fury and energy into the sprint for home. He has an uncanny ability to make a path where there seems to be none and he will charge to the finish with a turn of foot that will take your breath away. Once he see's the end in sight, he withholds nothing and will fight to the finish and it's all for the praise and recognition he knows that he will receive at the end. What can we say?
