THE NEW MEMBER VIP PROGRAM
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The NMVIP Program was created in Year 17 to benefit new members who needed horses with a bit of racing experience to get them on the right track.A new member is classified as someone who has not been a member for longer than 6 months. Staff members will create the horses of various ages that will become students in this training program. Each horse will receive their own thread in the NMVIP board and from there they will be assigned to a stable to receive their training and start entering races.
After a certain amount of time (such as when the horse - or when their trainer thinks they are ready - they will become graduates and will be available for purchase (via site money) by new members.
Acceptable conditions for graduation:
Here are a few conditions that trainers can use to decide when their horse is ready.
1. Becomes a specific grade level (G5, G4, etc.)
2. Earnings reach X amount
3. Has X number of starts (students should not be considered for graduation if they have a race consistency below 70%)
4. Wins a major race/series (race consistency must be at least 60%)

HOW TO BECOME A TRAINER
In order to become a trainer you must be an senior member (member for 6+ months) so that you can bring out the absolute best in these horses. You may not take on more than 5 student horses per stable at any given time. When you are ready to graduate your horses in training, you cannot reserve any breeding reserves or buybacks on these horses. They are to solely belong to the new member.
Graduate horses should be actively raced even while they are up for sale.
* A graduate is able to go unraced for 2 months at the most provided an unforeseen injury does not occur.
* Should the horse's current trainer wish to move on to other projects while the graduate is up for sale, the horse can either 1) be trained by a different trainer or 2) leased to a member (new members included) as a trial run.
BUYING A GRADUATE
Buying a graduate is incredibly easy. So long as you have not been a member for longer than 6 RL months you are eligible for this program. Horses that are available will have 'GRADUATE' in their thread title. Sold horses will of course have 'SOLD' and horses in training will have 'STUDENT' in the thread title.New members that own NMVIP graduates, as their owners, are able race, lease, sell and breed their horses. Should they wish to sell the horse to a previous owner they may do so.
Should a new member become inactive after purchasing a graduate, the graduate will be accessed by a staff member to determine if it needs to be trained further or if it can be sold to another member (old or new).
Graduates should have 'NMVIP Graduate' somewhere on their profile as well. It is also highly encouraged - but not mandatory - for the occasional offspring of graduates to be offered to the program as well.
** Graduates won't be available until January Year 18 (new members in Y17 will still be able to participate) **
