Clearly Present & Wild Inclinations - Workout
It seemed there were two new additions to the Intrepid racing string and both seemed to be the polar opposites of one another. One was black as night and the other, as light as day, but there was one thing the two horses had in common - fire.
Nick watched the juvenile filly move with fire and yet, such smooth gaits. She looked hungry and fierce in comparison to the grey three-year-old. Wild Inclinations while sweeter in temperament than her younger counterpart was not to be underestimated though.
Ariel was very much so enjoying her newest ride. The black juvenile was full of thrill and an excitement to train and today it was no different. Clearie moved with power and passion over the track, eyeing her light grey counterpart with open suspicion. Brody was working to keep the powerful three-year old in check. The normally sweet filly, while still kind in nature was full of fire and pent-up energy. She was a little rough on his hands as she pulled, asking for more, to stretch her legs and be free of the black nuisance. Trixie was on the muscle.
Nick nodded for the two jockeys to move along and the two thoroughbreds moved in tandem for their warm-up, each filly eyeing the other as they began to roll, progressively gaining momentum as they moved into their gallop. Ariel eased the filly and Clearie eagerly gobbled up the extra rein. Not wanting to be outdone, Brody was obliging and Trixie was there hot on the juvenile’s side. Side by side the pushed, the gears shifting up the closer they grew to the finish.
Nick was grinning the whole time as they flashed by in a blur. There was a good feeling overall about them and he knew that some might fault him for starting them so late into the game, but he also knew that it could be the best advantage and he was going to capitalize with these two on it. It was only a matter of time before things shifted into another level, another gear.
