Muggathugga Remains In Top Form
The founding horse of KC Racing is now even more handsome as a four year old. The now-stallion maintains his lively demeanor, but has filled out in all the right places. As he's matured we've noticed that the stallion has a beautiful conformation that we are sure will pass down to his future foals in the near future. We could have never expected our boy to rise up in status like he has but the truth is here and Muggathugga now races at the G1 level. After two years of racing he still maintains a firm 90% racing consistency, winning 13 of his 30 starts and only placing out of the money three times. We were hesitant to direct him towards the stakes races, but his recent wins in the SUMMER CUP* and SILVER CHARM DERBY* had John Murchison rethinking his schedule. The stallion will now be preparing for the Senior Dirt Superstars and will have his first prep race towards the end of July.
Everyday Hero son, A True Hero, Heading For The Senior Superstar Turf Series
Hero has always been a big red clown. No one ever tends to take him seriously as he bounces around like a spring colt without a care in the world. But this colt-turned-stallion while he still remains jolly has turned into a wonderful machine both on the turf and the dirt. He has now earned approximately $1 million in earnings and we're positive that he will continue to prosper as the months go by. He will join his stablemate, Muggathugga, in the senior prep races but in its turf counterpart. John Murchison claims it's about time both of these horses start hitting the HOTY world hard.
Enrapture Remains Vigilant
This mare is a she-devil, but she's a successful she-devil. With $1.5 million in earnings and one win away from G1, the mare is downright terrifying. Her four year old season has gone smoothly with her placing every single time without fail and she's won 4 of her 8 starts this year. John Murchison plans for the mare to make a return to the Breeders' Cup despite her having placed fourth earlier in her racing career. The mare will be racing against other top dirt mares in the Breeders' Cup Distaff later this year.
The ever-lovable Escape Artist
One should be reminded of the fact that this stallion was on the bench to be retired to stud when he was a two year old. He hadn't prospered on the track and was slated to start his stud career as a three year old to bring about fresh lines into the racing industry. It was a good thing that Ripley Marsh called us up when she did - giving us the option of using him as a stud or putting him back through his paces on the track. We chose the latter - and we don't regret it. The beautiful sprinter now runs at the G1-level with a $1 million in earnings and he even managed to place second in the ROYAL RED RICHARD MEMORIAL STAKES*, he only placed out of the money once this year. He is also slated for the Senior Sprinter Superstar series and will begin his prep work around the same time as his stablemates.
Indian Night's Future Racing Career is Questioned
Indian Night is a four year old stallion we acquired from Battlebrook Stables - owned by Ripley Marsh. We were in dire need of a focused turf runner and we were happy to add this grey boy into our racing string. Unfortunately, the stallion hasn't quite seemed to settle back into racing after running in our colors. The stallion currently runs at the G3 level but John Murchison has debated on letting him run a few more races. The trainer has debated on sending the stallion off to KC Stud (who has already purchased breeding shares in the stallion since they already own his half-sister) and letting that be the end of the story. The trainer will make his decision come early August.
