Gala Royale A big, chestnut colt by the exciting new sire prospect and G1 Racehorse Gallant Knight, out of an unraced mare. Gala Royale did not dissapoint us when he hit the ground as the Dirt Router Colt we had ordered on service. Built to last, this impressive colt has a mean set of legs on him and impressively strong bone. He already shows a huge length of stride and has the playful, mischevious spirit we like to see in any good, young thoroughbred. His few prospect events thus far have proven it is not just our biased eyes as his breeders who believe this News Flash derivative has what it takes to excell as a dirt stayer. | Mild Manic A greying filly by G1 Arlequinn and out of an unraced mare, Mild Manic is sure to kick up a storm in the turf sprints next year as a juvenile. One of our most exciting prospects, we are sure Milly has a bright future ahead of her and it seems several prospect judges would agree entirely. This yearling is as athletic as they come, a serious filly with stunning conformation and the truly wild personality of a thoroughbred who was bred to run and do it well. The staff will tell you that you need the perfect combination of patience and insanity to work with this horse, but they'll also tell you if she keeps her head on straight she's got the makings to be a big sprinting star in the future. |
So Far Afar We really feel the versatile G2 stallion Footloose is going to be a sire to watch in the coming future, it almost seems a crime that he is so under-bred at this point. Highgrove were more than surprised to learn of just a couple of his foals on the ground, foals that were doing well for themselves at that. So Far Afar's dam, Scarlet Fever was chosen for her mare-ish hint of spice when pairing with the easy going, cremello stallion, and the result was exactly what we were hoping for - with colour an added bonus. This palomino filly is expected to develop very nicely as a turf router, and her rivals won't see her coming. | Pursuit of War Boy oh boy are we looking forward to this one. Undoubtedly the most exciting and best bred of our Y16 Crop, Pursuit of War is a striking bay filly by BHoF Akuma Battlecry and out of the leading G1 Mare Silver Stalker. With blood like this it's not surprising we've got our hearts set on watching her own the dirt track in her juvenile season, and we don't doubt her success will progress onwards from there. It's not just her lineage that makes Penny such a promising prospect, but her stunning conformation and level head. With a trainability second to none, Penny really makes our lives easy as trainers and doesn't cease to take our breath away. Watch this space very closely. |
Time Out of Mind By the striking Dirt Sprinter Wannabe Hero and out of a promising young broodmare, Time Out of Mind is sure to lead our team to a few victories on the dirt. With an attitude as ferocious as his athleticism, this black colt is both captivating and talented. Many will choose to keep their distance from the simmering furnace of this horses temper, but let me promise you he's going to be as much of a whirlwind in the field as he is in his training. A promising yearling with pizzaz by the bucket-load, Time out of Mind is surely one to watch come Y18. | City of Ruins An introduction to this exciting dark bay colt's sire is certainly not needed. G1 Worldbreaker is both proven to succeed and proven to produce. When we applied to SOPS with our unraced but beautifully put-together mare Electric City, Sid was exactly the result we had in mind. This horse has an impressively level head on his shoulders, and though he still possesses all the fire we look for in a thoroughbred, he is easy to work with and his mature air will certainly give him a boost on the track. Another colt that's built to last, this boy has both the stamina to stay at long distances and the speed to close rapidly at the finnish. Don't overlook this striking dark figure, as you'll surely be seeing more of him next year. |
Hemingway A dark buckskin colt by BHoF Sweet Sugar Cane and out of G4 Furaccabad, Hemingway keeps things very interesting around the stables. With gorgeous conformation, this unusual colt already sports the breathtaking ability to accelerate with a turn of foot that's like nothing we've ever had before. Shockingly quick to react, we don't doubt this boy is going to take the turf sprinting world by storm. Proven to possess all the makings of a frighteningly fast front runner, Hemingway is going to be a challenge in his training but certainly one we eagerly look forward to. | Superbad A half sibling to our rising juvenile Turbocharged, Superbad is a striking filly by G4 Super Sparky and out of the unraced Firestone Mare Golden Roses. Intelligence is going to be the key to this filly sprinting her way to success on both surfaces, and let us guarantee you that she's not just a pretty face. With the looks and speed to boot, we really believe this girl has got everything she needs to gallop her way to success in the coming years. Not to be overlooked for her rarity, we didn't breed her to be pretty but we sure as hell bred her to be fast. |
