Tuff E'Nuff's workout for the Kentucky Derby.
Summer was coming spring time was ending and that could only mean that the three legs of the Triple Crown were coming next. All stables were anxious about who to place within the Kentucky Derby and the staff team of Nature Spring Acre's decided to place Tuff E'Nuff into the first leg of the race. The light bay colt was tall standing at will at an exactly 17 hands, his frame was certainly athletic with strong muscle tones and well built legs Striker posed a threat on the field. The colt could hold strong at distances and this was certainly a race to find out. A battle of the fittest and Terri Lane would ride the handsome True Enough colt to victory.
She trotted the colt up to the practice track where she was joined by Sable Evans on the back of Mother Goose Stakes winner Flaming Confidenza. The palomino won a leg of the Triple Tiara and placed in both the Acorn Stakes and the Coaching Club American Oaks she certainly had the talent to praise the confidence up in this field. Terri smiled at Sable and patted Striker along his neck line watching as the colt held his head high and perked up his ears curious of the track ahead of him showing no sign of interest of a confrontation of Denza.
Terri and her team had done their homework of the horses entered with Striker and like him there were also other closers in the race that would certainly give Tuff E'Nuff a run for his money. Roussong a dark bay colt by Knight Rousseau himself, the colt was beautiful and they knew his temperament well it was quite the opposite of their own Knight Rousseau colt and could be known to be tricky. Then there was Black Thriller, a relative to Roussong himself and a horse that always took action a vicious racer who enjoyed a nip here and there. Then there was Gold Rush a horse that brought old lines to the track one that which Striker came to oppose once back in January. Arctic Fox was also entered, a colt that most certainly showed promise and one Striker would most certainly come face to face with.
Both horses were at the ready Denza rose her head at the tall colt beside her and she snorted through her nostrils at the field in front and when Terri gave the go, the horses were in a dual of whose faster. Tuff E'Nuff remained at the back holding back his energy and momentum flowing with a smooth ride as Denza leaped ahead with experience and a well need run. Striker peered for an opening keeping his ears peeled for a command his tail raised in the happiness of the workout the colt felt joy when Terri took him out and he would certainly please her with a well good workout. Denza was well experienced as a five year old she was willing to go the mile with Striker. The colt soon picked up speed as he moved faster with the final turn setting loose on the palomino mare at his front.
Striker would not allow the mare to best him and he rose his pinned ears forward and came from the outside coming in eye sight of the mare. Denza had the colt right where she wanted him pushing him faster with each desire to win herself Sable moved the mare at a swift turn to the home stretch where he set her free of his grip. Striker posed a massive length over the mare and soon with much muscle and endurance Striker passed the wire with Denza winning by only a whisker. At the end the jockeys slowed their horses with a successful run that Terri was sure Striker would be ready to take on the field at his disposal. The tracks hadn't seen the end of the True Enough lines and would bring the legacy back to the tracks this coming week.
