FULL CIRCLE ------------------------------------------------------------ Aphrodite's Chant ridden by Brookson Wells. Miss Magic ridden by Laura DeComte
The sun just peaked over the horizon when the group of horses and riders stepped onto the track. Ripley kept her hands low on the neck of the bay gelding, holding Jabberwock steady even as a pair of thoroughbreds thundered past. The son of Native Flame thrashed his head, his eyes going wild for just one second as he remembered his old racing days. Injury had prevented the horse from reaching the upper echelons, but the grand horse could still flash his speed now and again. The towering horse lowered his neck slowly, settling into his job as a pony while Ripley scanned the horses before her.
Five horses would be galloping and two would be working. It was quite the busy morning at The Wire for Battle Brook, a result of the dirt track at home being flooded out. Even now crews would be working to fix the grading of the track, making it so that such bad flooding would not happen again for a while. Frustration burned Ripley's stomach, but her effort to maintain calm to protect her unborn child from her nerves won the battle. She stroked Jabber's soft neck, letting her eyes skim the gallopers first. All looked swell, provided quite the van guard for BBS. Luna de Soltera, Uno Momento, Cascabel, Artemis and Swing Dancer were all coming off solid springs, each becoming a force in their own way.
Coming.
