Stuckinajam Stakes - G4 8F T WIN. Wild Daisy PLACE. Final Judgement Letsgetouttahere Stakes - G4 8F D WIN. Bulletproof PLACE. Vengeance SHOW. Italian Beauty Bulletproof was running at her max range here, but really kicked up a lot of distance between herself and the other two ladies with her early burst. She's been doing well in her starts and was in good form coming into the race. Italian Beauty missed the 2nd place narrowly, having had duelled it out with Vengeance ferociously in the last stretch. Vengeance had come into the field after a good spell, and aside from her extra year of maturity on Italian Beauty, was well rested and ready to rumble. cavallo Fading Embers is out of her distance range.

Garnet Stakes - G3 8F D win Dark Maiden place Seems Legit show Tiny Dancer
^ ultra close field.
Tsunami Sprint - G2 6F T win Sophie's Pride place Southern Peach
Even coming off of a layoff, Sophie's Pride is tough competition. I saw her being just able to squeeze past Southern Peach today due to her seeming love of this six furlong distance and fantastic backclass. Southern Peach is really on her way up though, and I wouldn't be surprised to see her starring in some HoTYs as the year progresses.
London Sprint- G2 6F D win Flashing The Declaration place Swing Dancer show Doubloon Moon

Lolly could I have some more feedback on Italian Beauty? The other two haven't run in any HOTY races in 5 and 7 months, where that's all Beauty has run in this year, this is her first undercard. I'm not trying to dispute your results but I dropped her out of HOTY class for confidence boosting in the easier races and given her heavy HOTY company so far I felt this was a race she could have pulled off. Even though the other two are older she has more track time then Bulletproof and Vengeance is just back from a long layover. What put her last in your mind?

Hey Isa, no problem. I see where you are coming from, and no worries asking me to elaborate - it gives me more to think about next time I judge. I'm still learning :-) In my head, confidence doesn't come overnight. I didn't feel the first undercard race she was thrown in this season was going to boost her to a win just because she'd been running in HOTY level races. The competition may have been easier, but she's had a bit of a tough time in the HOTY fields and her confidence may still have been wavered from those experiences. She may have more time on the track than Bulletproof, but Bulletproof's season this far has been impressively consistent - consistency at this point plays a decent role in my judging because I think it's a fool-proof way to be fair whilst I am still learning the finer details of judging as I go. I felt she'd be feeling a big kick of self-assurance after her 1st/2nd Place stints at the moment. It's also her first time running this month and she was probably a little fresher than Beauty. In my oppinion, coming back to racing from a layoff doesn't generally mean a horse is unprepared or unfit. I don't feel a horse becomes fit through running races, but through training. Sure, I agree Beauty has had more time put into her, you've been putting a heap of effort into her; but again, her record lacked the consistency that Vengeance had. I tossed up between them for the second place a lot, and I wish they could have both had it, but sadly somebody had to run in 3rd. Finally, it was Vengeance's extra maturity, 'freshness' and her prior experience running the distance in a HOTY race that made me put her in the 2nd place. I hope that helps Isabelle , and I'm really sorry you were dissapointed. Please bare with me if I do not judge how you do yourself, as I said I am still learning the ropes.
