THE BASiCS
Registered Name: Flying Colours
Nickname: Fly
Age: Six years [Y1]
Breed: Thoroughbred
Colour & Markings: Dappled Grey [See Image]
Height: 16.1hh
Gender: Male
Personality: Fly is as high strung and full of himself as any other thoroughbred stallion. He likes to show off his speed, especially on the track. That's what makes him such a good sprinter - he's got plenty of firepower. He's got a bit of a temper at the best of times, which sometimes helps him to do well in races. He's actually similiar to Rising Fury in this aspect of his personality. Fly also really hates to lose. When he does, you can be sure he'll win his next race, because he is the sort of horse that never gives up.
History: In Y3 we bought Fly as a tall, gangly, unraced two year old with the hope he would make a mile or classic distance cup winner. We allowed him six months growing time in the paddock with minimal work so he could fill out in all the right places. However, when the time came to really begin his training, we discovered he was still as mature as a yearling in his mind. It didn't mean he was slow - just silly. We nearly sold him on, but decided to give him a little more time because we had a feeling he was going to do well as a racehorse. When Fly turned three, we hired a new jockey by the name of Davo Perez. Davo took an immediate liking to the colt and offered to help us train him to race. Figuring it couldn't hurt - and because Davo had been born and raised on thoroughbred horse farm - we decided to give it go. Davo worked the colt up to fitness over the next six months, and when Fly was three and a half we finally found a race he was ready for. Fly went on to win it, and we were excited. We raced Fly a few more times that year, and were extremely happy with the results - he never placed out of the top three. When he turned four years old, we continued racing him. He won the Boys Festival, came second in the Star Festival and third in the Breeder's cup Sprint, as well as a few other races.
His five year old season saw his first and second places out of the top three. It has so far been his most successful season yet, however, having won the Unicorn Horn Sprint, the Star Festival, and the Tick Tock Sprint, come second in five races (BI Randomized Meet #1, Boys Festival Y6, Butter Cup Sprint Y6 , Starshine Sprint, Superstar Sprint) and third in one. We are pointing him toward the Breeder's Cup Sprint with the hope we will win it this time around, and he may just be running a six year old season.

BIOGRAPHY
While he may be "only" grade two, Fly has proven himself an amazing sprinter and worthy of the HOF title. The three time winner of the Horse Of The Year Best Sprinter Award has had a pretty fabulous career. His record of 33-12-10-9 boasts a 93.9% win/place/show percentage, which means he only ever placed out of the top three twice.
Fly was much too immature as a two year old to begin racing, but his lines told us he was a keeper. We left him to fill out for a year, and grow up both physically and intellectually. When he turned three, we hired a new jockey by the name of Davo Perez, who took a instant liking to the colt and offered to help train him. Later that year, they went on to win their first race together.
The fiesty stallion didn't really start to show true potential until he turned four, and started racing actively. He won four races that year, including the Boy's Festival, placed second in two, including the Star Festival, and third in three, including the Breeder's Cup Sprint.
But it wasn't until he turned five that he really shined. He won the Unicorn Horn Sprint, Star Festival, Tick Tock Sprint, Salamon Stakes, and finally, his last race of the season, the prestigious Breeder's Cup Sprint. He placed second in the Boy's Festival, Buttercup Sprint, Starshine Sprint, Superstar Sprint, Red Wine Sprint, and his last race ever, the MHS Secret Rose. That year he also placed third in two races - the Sunny Days Stakes and So Sassy Sprint.
