Note, this is the second to last year that both Positively Precious and Memorial's Blaze will be offered for public stud. Each gorgeous animal has two grade one winners a piece. Positively Precious has proven to be an extremely versatile sire over both turf and dirt. Battle Brook will be breeding two grade one winners to him over the next two seasons, each displaying a different style and surface preference. Battle Brook is eager to demonstrate the sire-power of Positively Precious by mating him with both Winning Touch, a daughter of BBS super sire Touch Up, and Y16 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf Sprint winner Taboo. I am being generous in offering two public breedings in Y18.
Memorial's Blaze offers a proper outcross to the strong Speed Demon lineage out there. His son, Arlequinn has proved fairly popularly for people looking to spread the wealth of turf sprinter lines. Memorial's Blaze is available for one breeding in Y18.
Both Flashpoint and Optimus Unstoppable will see their first offspring offspring race in Y18. Flashpoint is by the sire of the Hall of Fame mare Paranormal Hunter and will cross well with almost any mare. Optimus Unstoppable is outstandingly bred and will see two mares this year in Seraphim and Nirvana.
Euphorion and GM Halloweentown offer the unique opportunity to get into some HOF producing lines. Euphorion, being a son of HOF Merry Bay King and Euphoria is perhaps the best deal on the market. He bred Night Goddess in Y17, resulting in a chestnut colt to be raced by Battle Brook. In Y18, Battle Brook will be matching the enigmatic Calamity Queen to Euphorion.
GM Halloweentown, a son of Night Stalker, never really had a shot on the track. He has sired one foal to date, a horse named Fear The Night to be raced by Montgomery Acres. GM Halloweentown is an outstanding looking individual. He will breed the dam of miler-hero Breaking Point in Y18 and in Y19 will mate the beautiful mare, Coveted Faith. He is likely to produce a classic distance/marathon type horse.
Both Euphorion and GM Halloweentown are open to 2 breedings each.
New to the line up are Casualty of War and Firestorm. Casualty of War was an ultra-successful, ultra-durable competitor on the track. He never ducked competition and always brought his A-game. He was a versatile individual, claiming victories in the 10F Queen's Plate on Dirt and the Eclipse and Champion Stakes at 12 & 11F on Turf. He was precocious enough as a juvenile to win the Follow The Hoofprints Turf Classic at 11F on turf and the Coronation Futurity at 8.5F on dirt. His first mate will be the grade one of the Y16 Flower Bowl, Stalking The Stars for Valkyrie Stud. He is available for 1 public breeding in Y18. In Y19, he will mate Calamity Queen for Battle Brook Stable.
Firestorm, like Casualty of War, provides a unique opportunity to get into a versatile line. Descended from the mare who also produced Canadian Triple Crown winner, Anodyne, Firestorm gives everyone a shot at trying the turf side of that potent family tree. He won the second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, the Prince of Wales Stakes* at 9.5F on the dirt and as a four year old, has won the 8F Spook Express Stakes* on turf. He is a fan-favorite and a well-conformed animal. Battle Brook will match the handsome horse in Y19 with the turf-heroine Summer Romance. If he is not bred by anyone in Y18, he is likely to remain on the track for a five year old season.
