September Juvenile Dirt Faceoff - 11F D 2yo FIRST The Dark Knight SECOND Night Terror THIRD Odin FOURTH Charmed Weapon FIFTH What So Not SIXTH Leviticus
In this race there wasn't a clear front runner but there was a solid back pack out of the gate. Odin did take the lead, and things were slow but gained better paced after a few furlongs. In this race I felt a good chunk of these horses preferred and did better at longer or shorter distances. The Dark Knight seemed the most suited to this win given his placement and I see him liking this middling range best. Night Terror I also felt liked this particular distance, and being the toughest closer today from the sluggish onset pace was able to get moving great at the end. Odin I feel prefers longer distances, but he has the most experience at 10 furlongs in this group and I couldn't see placing him lower. It was hard to place Charmed Weapon out of the money for the first time, but his experience and success lie more in miler ranges. What So Not looks to do better at 11 and 12 furlongs, he's a lovely boy don't take this as a disappointment, this was a large field. Leviticus was a bit tender to join this field after just breaking his maiden in late July. I think he needs smaller fields for sure to get his confidence and some experience going for him.

THE DANCE AWAY* - G4+ 8F T 3YOS+ WIN. Dancing On Nails PLACE. Wild Tide SHOW. Apache Sunrise
DQ'd Natural Selection - Ran at BSD
Two seriously strong G1 stallions here, against two lower grade younger fillies. Natural Selection had advantages over the girls in this race, but 8F really doesn't seem to be his strongest distance. I tossed up between him and Wild Tide for the 2nd frequently, but this trip really seems to agree with Wild Tide and I think Natural Selection just didn't quite have the speed that his rival filly did over the shorter distance - it would have been a different story with an extra furlong or two. Apache Sunrise just wasn't quite up to the competition today, and though the run would have suited her she was somewhat outclassed by the other contenders. Dancing On Nails was the clear winner here for me today.
edited by Cavallo - I caught my own error after the fact. sorry xD

I think Isabelle judged the September Juvenile Dirt Faceoff - 11F D 2yo as a 10F Race. xD -Pats Isa- What So Not needs to avoid the unavoidable big fields.

._. Eh. If an admin wants to redo the race that's fine. Must have thought both races were 10f.

Lolly Isabelle judging by the feedback, it seems that What So Not is the most impacted by the confusion in distance. I'd say let Lolly scratch that result and we can move on, as we're supposed to close wk 3 tomorrow

Fine by me. I don't think it would have made that much of a difference.
