Synergy Derby Race Three - 9F - G2 *series*
FIRST Ground Zero
SECOND Proletariat
In such a small field Proletariat was forced to the lead which made him uncomfortable. He'll get his second win for the season soon, this just wasn't quite the race for it with an older and more primed runner who felt comfortable in his position in the pack. Holly if you plan to race Ground Zero next season I suggest getting him into some HOTY company to start preparing him for it.

Cavvy cavallo the pace was slow and both horses seemed to hold back, not wanting to get anywhere near each other. Wrex had the early lead and Valaska's rider kept her back and away from him. The filly had an explosive kick in the stretch and both horses head bobbed down to the wire. Valaska has had a nice full season and was ready to put in another win. I see Wrex prospering in HOTY runs. He will pull in more wins for you. He is a strong and demanding colt. Valaska just had this one in the bag. |

Holly. ok. like i said, i'm not challenging the placing, but I think it's important to point out that back class....does matter. He's won many HOTY races and I have experienced this lately with a lot of horses of mine lately where it seems to count for naught in the light of frequency of racing. Horses shouldn't be penalized for that. And no it's not an attack on you lol This is a recent trend that a lot of people have been leaning towards.

Unfortunately the older horses got the best of the 2 year olds today. Had they not been entered I think this would have played out a little differently, however they forced a blistering pace and the younger horses had a hard time keeping up with the physically matured ones.
