TICK TOCK SPRINT** - G5+ 5F D 3YO TRIPLE SPRINTER CROWN Win. Gambling Fortune Place. Pied Piper Show. Toss Up (6-9F)
Pied Piper and Toss Up went head and head for the first four furlongs, blitzing through a first quarter in :21 3/5. The scorching fractions caught Toss Up by surprise as he isn't big on running anything shorter than 6 furlongs. Gambling Fortune found the fractions and set up to his liking, gunning by the leaders in the stretch to win by 2 3/4 lengths. Next race should be interesting when the race stretches out to 6F into Toss Up's wheelhouse.

.... You know, I had in my head that this was the second leg. Not sure how that happened. BUT third's not the end of the world, I'll take it and run.

ROSE MILE CUP* - G4+ 8F T 3YO win Flawless Majesty place Storm Warning show Eternally Smoldering fourth Monstrosity
Flawless Majesty proved his miler worth once more, coming off the Lure Green Mile with a plan in mind for getting this win locked down. I'm happy to see him in more races again! Storm Warning just managed to outfoot Eternally Smoldering at the wire, showing some sprinter speed in locking second place down. Eternally Smoldering strikes me as a horse that is more comfortable at the classic distances at the moment, though of course that could change. Against the top two, he was no match at this distance yet. Monstrosity is actually a very nice colt who strikes me as an up-and-coming type. I'd continue to build that record in undercards with a dip or two into HoTY company every now and then, and you should have a solid HoTY competitor in time for next year, if not sooner.

I didn't want to run this because I've run these horses a lot lately, BUT there we go.
FLASHY WINGS MEMORIAL STAKES* - G1 11F D 3YOS+ WIN Fleet Street PLACE Barely Smokin SHOW Black Thriller fourth Tiger Heart fifth Ultimate Revenge
I had to really nitpick to separate the top four... but at the end of the day, I had to go with the fact that Tiger Heart's "strength of schedule", as it were, is not quite as impressive as the other three. This is a BC-quality field, which is super exciting!
