STABLE SPOTLIGHT: ALUMNI
We may be six, but we're still in the mix!
Everday Smile
NDM is very pleased to be the new owners of Everyday Smile. Having changed owners a few times in the last couple seasons we are glad to have the Everday Hero daughter join our racing team and find her forever home. In her final season, she will work on getting a full record that works on expanding the success she’s been having so far. Previously her racing seasons were only about ten or less races each, and we think she wasn’t able to reach her full potential as a youngster. Out of two hall of fame horses, we’re very excited that she was able to make her career out as well as she has despite her ownership difficulties. Firestone Racing was giving her a great run, and was happy with her, but found she was mixing too much with other mares in the same categories. With NDM older roster so tiny, she’ll make a great addition for us. We’re going to focus her on the router distances of her preferred dirt surface, and just might make a bid in the future for a Breeder’s Cup if she holds good placements in her final season and is still on her toes for the competition.
Get Loose
This beautiful boy needs some love and a good solid season or two of racing! A turf router older runner, Get Loose has not been able to receive the track time he’s needed to progress his career. We hope to change that, as his total record so far is very sparse he’s never been able to meet his competition head on and really challenge them. He’s been in training though, and working hard to keep his nose high. Being six now, he’s been at grade four since he was four, and we’re mounting a campaign to change that. Out of Justa Muffin and Loose Truth, we’re planning on putting this stallion into two races every month for the rest of the year. With luck, we’ll also race him as a seven year old next season so he can really get a chance to have a turn if he’s still feeling good to go. We’ve never raced a seven year old before, but if anyone deserves a chance it’s Get Loose! We got him from Nature Spring Acres, who unfortunately did not have the time to get him going as we hope to. He’ll be a wonderful project horse to see what he can become in his later years. It’s time to finally put all his years of training to the test!
