Vesuvius is right at home at nine furlongs, his competitors seem to favor the distances below 9 furlongs otherwise known as the sprinter distances. The other horses in this field just kinda blew out a bit once they reached the stretch leaving plenty of room for Vesuvius to maintain his lead position throughout the entirety of the race.

Idk why I signed up to judge this race. Chaotic Limitations had the age advantage and physical maturity advantage over the others. It was very close between her and Royal Charm, who was digging in hard at the end to try and catch the chestnut mare. Lasheeva snuck her way along the rail to widen the gap between her and Bayahibe, who wasn't too far behind the three fillies. He put in a great effort but with the pace not in his favour he let the lead slip away. Tempest Rising's dip into that one HoTY race with a good placing is what gave her a boost over Beyond Constellation. Beyond Constellation needs smaller fields for a confidence booster and she needs to stick to 2yo races only. but it wouldn't be a bad idea for Tempest Rising either. Realeza could've been a contender in this field but she's only 6-9f and this race was 10f :)
