This year we have been blessed with eight beautiful foals from our broodmares. Some of which are seasoned mothers and a handful were maidens up until this point and are now first-time mothers. As mentioned in another article, we've also acquired several studs from the Annual Spring Sales. These studs won't be available to the public until 2018 but feel free to get yourself acquainted with them now and add them to your breeding plans in the near future.
We've acquired a half-brother to our G2 4 year old colt, A True Hero, named Majestic Hero. This 2011 stallion accumulated $1.5 million in earnings during his racing career and remained fairly consistent up until he retired from the track with a consistency of 89% and a race record of 15-15-7. He currently has no foals on the ground but being six years old he still has a lot to offer to the horse racing community. His stud fee for next year will be $35,000.
Another stallion for our roster is one of fresh lines, Ryck O'Shay. This seven year old stallion retired as a G5 and was only lightly raced during his career. Much like Majestic Hero, he is also a freshman stud and have his first year standing at stud in 2018 with a stud fee of $1,000. He is a docile dirt sprinter that while he may not have the racing experience to back him up, his personality will most definitely win you over by the end of the day.
The stout, muscular red stallion you'll often see around our breeding farm nowadays is called Super Sparky. A ten year old G4 dual-surfaced sprinter type that placed in quite a few undercards during his career on the track, even managing to come in third in the BREEDERS' CUP SPRINT*. It isn't hard to believe that this stallion may have had some hidden talent before he came off the track. Perhaps his offspring will get a chance to show everyone what that talent could have been. To date he has had four foals, the first foal being a Y13 filly out of Curious Tale. His stud fee for 2018 will be $5,000.
Autumn Storm is probably one of the older stallions that we acquired being fourteen years old. With his age comes a bit of wisdom and out of all of our stallions he is the most manageable. Retired once he hit G5 he didn't have much time to leave his mark on the track. Instead he leaves his mark in lineage with his incredibly lovable disposition. His personality makes him a good choice for either first-time mares or mares that come from a line of aggressive horses. His first foal was back in 2008, a bay colt out of Whistlin' Dixie. His stud fee for next year is $2,000.
Last, but not least, is the formidable Apollo Bear. Just last year we acquired a weanling filly (out of Dark Goddess) that was the first foal by Apollo Bear. We have since named the filly The Hunteress and she has started showing some prowess as a yearling. Just this year Apollo Bear sired yet another filly out of Beyond Expectations. The stallion himself has placed in the BELMONT TURF CLASSIC*, UNICORN HORN COLTS DIRT* and even the QUEEN'S PLATE*. His stud fee for next year will be $30,000.
Now on to the lovable fuzzies that everyone loves so much!
Firstly, we've acquired a half sibling to our beloved Cute Italian, a lovely bay filly out of Fleet Murderess named Italian Goddess. This lovely girl is extremely leggy and we already know that she's going to be a big girl once she matures. Through both her sire and dam she has fresh lines and will be a welcome addition to the horse racing industry later on down the line.
Daydream was acquired from the January sale and was bred to Shiver Me Timbers, a well renowned sprinting stallion. The mare would later deliver a colt that was practically a spitting image of herself. We named the colt Shanty Town.
One of our founding broodmares, Tricky Cat, delivered a chestnut colt that has grown into a fine weanling. The colt is practically a clone of his dam but he's just as spunky and rambunctious as his sire, Arlequinn. We've come to name the colt, Yes I Jest as a reference to his sire's own name. He's a bit on the small side, but that doesn't stop him from wreaking havoc on the other weanlings on a daily basis.
Point Away delivered her third foal and her first filly this year. The bay filly is by Coco Cabana and is yet another foal born on the small side. We're beginning to think it's something in the water. We've named the filly Pray For Pegasus .
Our beloved Mardi Gras had her first foal this year, a beautiful baby girl. As some of you may know, Mardi Gras was a talented G3 racehorse that broke down during her last race. She had fractured one of the bones in right foreleg but thankfully she'd be able to return home to us after surgery and rehabilitation. Unfortunately, the big girl wouldn't be able to return to the track. She was given a year to herself and around that time we acquired her yearling full sister, Partyatthedisco. Currently Mardi Gras' sister carries on her legacy on the track and is currently leased for the Y18 racing season to another stable. Mardi Gras' first foal is also the first foal by Radiation Therapy. We've come to name the filly, Radiant Love. She has now been bred to Apollo Bear for a Y18 foal.
Carabella was acquired from the January Sale and gave us a uniquely colored buckskin Flying Solo colt. We've decided to name him Han Solo for some of those Star Wars fans out there (which we're not!). This colt joins our ever-growing band of uniquely colored Thoroughbreds which includes Cute Italian and her yearling son, Figuarti as well as the next weanling coming up.
Although Cute Italian has foaled her fair share of successful offspring in the past, we won't know how her palomino sabino son, Figurati will do until his debut next year. This year marks the mare's fifth foal, a gorgeous chestnut sabino filly by Limited Edition. We've named her Cute Edition but she's got a personality that'll make you think otherwise. Next year Cute Italian will get a much deserved break and we will debate her having a sixth and final foal in 2019, if we decided not to breed her that year she will be given a much deserved retirement altogether.

Silverianna was Y11's Best 3 Year Old Filly a title acquired after nearly missing the Triple Tiara by one win. At the end of last year she was given the title of Y16's Broodmare to Watch. She was bred to Hall of Famer and multiple title winner, Flashy Wings for her first foal and the mare experiencing quite a bit trouble being a maiden mare. There was a moment where we thought we'd lose the mare but with the help of our on-call veterinarian Silverianna managed to deliver a healthy, spunky bay filly. This bay filly rapidly started showing signs of graying and by the time she was weaned she had almost completely grayed out. We named the filly, Flash The Crowd. This little girl has always been a bit on the small side so we don't expect her to grow very tall. Her dam, Silverianna, will be bred back to Flashy Wings for a 2018 foal and a full sibling to Flash The Crowd.
